Recently performed injector replacement to see if helped my fluctuating oil temps. Thanks for Chrisridebike8 who provided the idea. Temps are now stable at 186 f and car is noticeably lively and idling is smooth no lumpiness. Will provide updates in coming weeks to see any other improvement like city mileage which I got 12-13mpg.

the old injectors were caked and dirty. There was also residue on the wiring harness plugs (7 out of 8) and inside the injector plugs. Not sure if leaking from within or normal. Thoughts?

i have used Chevron with Techron since the beginning. I would highly recommend the job . Wasn’t too difficult to do.

Oil temp sensor plug

great! Still trying to figure out why my plugs had oil or a gas like residue in pretty much all of them. Looked like my oil temp sensor harness plug a few weeks ago. Wondering if internal pressure is forcing it out of the engine through sensors etc. kind of odd. Hope it’s running great...mine so far is so happy about the job.

Mine looked similar around 65k. I also had the oil on my harness connectors. It's common on these cars but I don't think anyone really knows why.

gunk like shown is due to not driving the car in full throttle enough. at high millisecond openings and full throttle, a lot of the fuel spray is kicked back with each pulsation which reverses flow which will clean runners and injectors.

Catch can would also help prevent. Spewing oil into your intake on a direct injection engine is hard on injectors.
