New 507 dynoed - Flame suite on
Before you come at me... I know how this forum feels about dynos so please don't hate
I had a 2012 P31 and just got a 2015 C63 507 edition coupe
When I got it (from a Florida dealer) I bought it sight unseen (done this before but this time big mistake) as it only had 23K miles on it I thought it would be a mint car, near under warranty etc.
However, the resonator and mufflers were removed. (straight piped from cat back) sounded ok but throttle response was horrible and droned in the car, otherwise, it was "OK". Not my style though.
I grabbed off my old factory exhaust from my wrecked car and put it on along with Mike's power pipe.... but I needed some help as things didn't line up properly and there was a little gap. on a lift it did better
I took it to a performance shop locally (bc they can MIG weld if needed - this is a high perf. shop that builds full race (alpha 10, 11, 12) GT-Rs
While it was there, I had the guys run it for 3 pulls on the dyno
here is the chart I just got
Does this look right?
does the power band look proper, or does this car have a tune?
forget the numbers.... I'm sure BLKRKT will ban me just for asking these questions. but

my thoughts are it has a tune and you're making solid power. dyno dynamics report out tougher numbers than most dynojets. not necessarily like a mustang dyno, but still less than what a dynojet would output. maybe someone on the forums previously owned your car and may be able to chime in?

I guess could send it to all companies?
I wonder if they keep a log of VIN s they provide tunes to since the handheld is locked to the VIN

They can tell simply off the file you send them.

Seems to be in the ballpark if this thread is anything to go by.

Really got a chance to drive the car for the first time today
Not impressed compared to my '12 P31
The Eurocharged tune must have made it what it was.
Already sent them a message
Look forward to the change
Power is good/strong.... But didn't FEEL good

Bought my car used with a EC V6 tune. Absolutely garbage. Hated how it felt. Clunky shifting. Odd power band. Just not right. And to be honest....Felt slower than when I reflashed it to stock. Switched to HPTUNERS and running a custom dyno tune... worlds apart. Not sure why people even mess with canned tunes anymore.

Perfect word. “Refined”
True. But, if your gonna go canned. I rather go kleemann or Renntech. My buddy has a Renntech 2012 c63 and that felt amazing. Smooth and powerful.
But the to majority of people now on this forum. All they care about is flame tunes and burbles lol

I can only speak for myself ...but cheap and convenient is the reason for me.
I recently loaded the EC V7 tune and have done about 2,000 klm's on it and can't really feel much difference to the stock performance package tune. I haven't had it on a dyno yet so that may well prove otherwise - so I can't categorically say whether or not there has been a difference. My stock Ford G6E turbo feels livelier in every day driving around the suburbs.

The gains aren’t that dramatic on p31 or 507 cars.
I went from 377whp stock with ROW’s/AFE Filters to 447 with HPTuners on 93 pump gas. And 487 whp with mbh headers and xpipe again on 93 pump. I’m a non p31 car. The end number isn’t biggest part. My power in the mid range is far more superior than the previous tune. It’s honestly apples and oranges. When I was data logging my EC tune my throttle bodies were barely opening passed 70%. And, my car was running worse timing than stock passed 6k rpms. It was a mess.
Hard to tell without a base dyno run.

For sure Peter - I need to get it on a dyno to really tell whats going on. I'm also probably used to modifying turbo cars where improvements make significant differences. The C63 is very linear in it's hp delivery so its probably quicker than it actually feels, but lacks the low and mid range punch of a turbo car when driving around the suburbs.

Once you data log your car you will see the dip in power. Also check to see if you have any leaks (intake manifold, throttle body housing, bad pcv, etc) those all attribute to a lazy low- mid range lack of power feel.

Peter - I had it serviced at MB dealer recently and all was in order (car has 54K klms). It probably doesn't lack low-mid range for this motor, it just doesn't have peak torque of the 4 litre turbo Ford at 1,950 rpm's, nor the acceleration of circa 400rwhp of my previous Nissan S15 weighing 1265 kgs.
