Safety Recall and Continuous Steering Noises

Hi everyone, I am new to the forum and wanted to share my experience with the safety recalls. I apologize in advance for my first lengthy post, I wanted to be as descriptive as possible, in case other forum
members are having or will have a similar experience. I have a 2014 C63 AMG with under 15,000 miles on the clock, purchased new from our local dealer in 2015.
The first recall I received for the insufficient grounding of steering wheel components was corrected. Thereafter, I noticed a ticking noise in the steering wheel when turning left or right. The dealer identified
the noise as coming from the steering column ring. Insulation was applied and they replaced the hexagon screw. A few days later, I heard a different noise, this time it was a rubbing, sort of like running my
fingers on a piece of paper. The dealer noted, "Found noise coming in contact with column, R&I steering wheel torque to spec. Issue has been corrected." Four months later, a different noise could be heard,
like plastic rubbing or shrinking while driving and not necessarily when turning the wheel. It appeared only a few miles as the engine warmed to operating temp. Dealer: "Mechanical fault in steering column
module causing noise. Localized noise on body...Verified noise coming from steering wheel/column area found when driving between 35-40 MPH on curved roads would make chirping/tapping noise." Long
story short, the technician said he found tabs on SCM damaged from contact bridge on steering shaft for recall "2017120024." The contact bridge was updated and replaced steering jacket switch module,
all under warranty. One month later, the C63 was back at the dealership again, due to more squeaking/chirping-type noise when turning the steering wheel back and forth. I had multiple recordings while on
the road, with the noise being heard. The technician found there was "too much play in clearance between joint." The correction involved replacing the steering coupling. Unfortunately, this did not take care
of the steering noise, as it was back at the shop again. This time, it was a high-pitched noise when turning the steering wheel ever so slightly to the right at slow speeds. The Advisor informed me they had
to get Mercedes-Benz involved (I'm assuming he was referring to MBUSA). The tech found the noise to be coming from just behind the steering wheel. "Clearanced the steering column module. Installed
new contact ring, contact bridge and heaxagon screw." I drove the car home and did not notice the noise. Will continue to observe and will post further developments as they occur.
