Splitter and Diffuser

G'day gents I have a few questions regarding aftermarket front splitters and diffusers for a 2011 W204 C63.

I have been lurking quite hard on other peoples build threads and admiring the carbon fibre pornography on display and i have decided I would like to dip my toe into the waters. My doctor did say I need more fibre in my diet.

I have finally gotten around to retuning my car with a company local to me and I am overall happy with the results, I would like to change the aesthetics of the car with the addition of a splitter, a diffuser and maybe some carbon bits on the side skirts and over the slits in the front bumper.
My question is, does the addition of a splitter and diffuser offer any appreciable differences in handling or performance when not on a track? My car has never, and will likely never see a track, I was just curious if people added splitters and diffusers to their cars because they looked cool, or because they offered a change in the cars handling, on top of looking the ****.

On this platform, people mostly add it because it looks bad ***.

They’re not functional at all. In fact they probably add weight/drag so it’s worse for our cars. But they look cool
so who cares?

cheers fellas, I assumed that they offered no change in the handling, however I was curious so I thought it best to ask the brains trust incase I was mistaken.

Not functional, furthermore, I personally would not recommend. Too much work installing. Fit can be hit or miss.
