C63 AMG 2008

Need Help Installing O2

I have a 2008 C63 AMG. I installed MBH headers on it so one of the cat's isn't active and it won't pass smog.

I bought o2 extensions from Redline360 which should be able to imitate a cat in order to pass smog.

I have two questions:

1. Which oxygen sensors do I need? They have upstream and downstream sensors. I know since I have headers one set of oxygen sensors is removed.

2. Where should the o2 extensions be installed? Is there any sort of DIY tutorial around?

First question. Do you have cats? Second in order to pass smog you need 2 sets of o2 sensors. The first set or upstream is entirely for your air fuel ratio. You have to have those. The rear set or downstream check if the cats are working and within spec. It basically looks for a change in value from your up stream sensors to your down stream sensors. Those are installed after your primary cats. If you don’t have cats would go after the primary sensors however I don’t think you will pass without cats. A tune typically disables the secondary o2s. You need both sensors operating. The spacers with built in mini cats iv seen work long enough for smog to get tested. Those go in the downstream o2 sensor locations and you need 2. There is a total of 4 o2 sensors.
