I picked up my C63 AMG PPP 2 months ago from a reputable dealer. It is still under warranty. 50k miles, mid 2011.

Im absolutely loving the car but have noticed that under partial throttle i get some vibration for a few seconds (the same feeling you get when you drive on the hard shoulder of the motorway) and the revs are inconsistent. Initially i thought it was the tyres but then i would notice it at other speeds.

It never has this issue when in neutral or being driven hard, but it is especially noticeable under partial throttle when going up a hill for example.
This is in comfort mode. It kinda feels like the gearbox is struggling at low revs and cant change. The power kinda stops while the vibration is happening and then it gets a gear and its all back to normal. It has happened a few times too when braking but nowhere near as often.

It doesnt really effect me but i seem to notice it a lot and im wondering what the issue is.

In summary:
Vibration and rev inconsistency at low RPM moderate throttle - hills especially
No issue at full throttle or neutral

Any ideas? Want to get this sorted under warranty.

Regards

- Bez
you ever get that figured out? I have the same problem

My 2012 P31 does this also when it’s at operating temp. The car also tends to surge under medium throttle below 3k RPM’s. The tranny fluid was changed around 10k miles ago and these issues have been present for the past 5k miles.

Was this issue ever resolved? My car has the same symptoms, and it drives me crazy.

Vibrations

Might sound weird, but check the wheel studs. I had slightly loose wheel studs on one wheel, and they had the same effect.

but this wouldn't make sense to be the problem if the problem is only in partial throttle from a stop then slowly accelerating. If it was wheel suds you'd feel the vibration the whole time you're driving partial throttle and full throttle

I'm getting similar symptoms W204 2013. Did you work out what was causing it?

It wasnt even that old, but debris in the fluid is what caused it.

So I finally brought my car in to a local Mercedes shop, and the owner thought this issue was transmission related. So, he brought my car to a transmission shop right next door. Long story short my torque converter needed to be replaced. I thought my 2012 didn’t have a torque converter, but the car is back to normal.

LOL it doesn’t have a torque converter. Maybe they meant “wet clutch”. Whatever it is, they didn’t replace what you think they did.

When I was told it was my torque converter I kept questioning it. But I figured as long as the car is fixed, I don’t care what they called it

Good point. Glad it appears fixed.
