Power Steering still whines after pump replacement.
So a customer brought me his car and asked that I replace his power steering pump for a whine. So I obliged and replaced the pump. I didn’t notice any leaks in the system when replacing and everything went normally but I cannot get rid of the whine. I did the normal bleed with engine off front wheels in the air to try and fully bleed the system. Left the car on jack stands over the night with the wheels turned right to try and help bleed air out of the system that way. Anyone dealt with a bad Bosch pump out of the box? I’ve read that the ps tank has a built in filter and if that’s clogged could cause the issue? I’m at a lost and hate to return the car back still with a whine but I was not asked to diagnose but rather to just replace the pump.

I'd try a new reservoir along with a full flush.

There’s an additive you can get from MB that stops the aeration of the power steering fluid. This plus a new reservoir (VT Commodore one - I’m in Australia you mightn’t even know what that car is haha) fixed my whine/squelch.

that's because Naparm has a blower kit. Just do a stock replacement reservoir. The one with the blower kit is total trash. You should also consider replacing the high pressure line, they can collapse internally and cause issues as well. If possible drain out all the bad contaminated fluid as the debris will contaminate the rest of the system and potentially cause damage.
