Single Muffler Conversion

Just throwing this out there because some of you guys are geniuses in this department [[dare I say]]

Curious if replacing the resonator with a muffler and deleting the two outer mufflers gives any weight savings without making the car loud / or interesting exhaust note / unlikely but a power gain (or loss?) Backpressure change

Let's hear it

I think your cheapest option would be to post on the C300 forum and swap out your system + some cash maybe (as I doubt any C300 guys will swap straight up) for a single muffler upgrade off a C300
Or maybe from a C250 or C180 would be even better but shipping might be high to get one of those from Europe.

I think he is talking about taking the resonator out and using a dual in/dual out muffler and straight piping/deleting the 2 mufflers at the back by the diffuser. It would keep the true dual exhaust we already have but potentially save weight and would definitely change the sound.

I am just F'ing with him.

I have had my mufflers off, they are not terribly heavy. I think generally the resonator and mufflers give the AMG tone, just all the cats out will make it loud as hell with the mufflers still in, so they don't do a lot of muffling I don't think.

Not talking about the 300 mate

Chris is right, I'd be curious what sound it makes but I know people might say it would have more (less?) backpressure which could restrict flow or something
