Hi there,

Recently bought a 2011 w204 c63 4-door and this car is amazing.

Took a long drive recently and after I stopped at the garage and locked vehicle, I tried to start it again to get back on the road. I then realized that the car did not have the squares around the PRND and did not show the the C mode as well.
I drove for a bit and then noticed the car did not shift into another gear and remained in what seemed to be second gear and shortly after the engine light came on with no other warnings.

The next day I started the car and the same issue arose so I limped to the shops and returned home hoping it would reset. By chance I left the handbrake down and a few hours later when I started the car, the squares were back along with C mode and not hard hitting neutral to Drive - cycled through the gears and the engine light off and all was happy again.

I have been parking on flat surfaces ever since and haven't engaged the handbrake as I'm testing the waters to see if it was coincidence or if that's the issue.

The car's battery was replaced 3 Month ago.

Has anyone by chance experienced this or know how to fix it?
