Preventative Maintenance
Just looking to get some recommendations on what kind of preventative maintenance should I be looking at doing on my c63.
Its a 2010 C63 P30 with approximately 153,000 km.
Cheers
While you're in there, you may as well change the sparkplugs and air filters and give the airboxes a good clean. Use a vaccum cleaner for this, or remove the entire airbox assembly and then use a compressor to blow all the crap out out of it.
at 153,000 kms, you may want to look at new injectors as well.
Of course it all depends on how big your budget is, and how far you are willing to go with your preventative maintenance. Big ticket items you could look at are, power steering pump, headbolts, cam/cam adjusters, lifters etc.
Maybe some suspension components like bushings and of course engine and gearbox mounts.
@Panzerbiscuit Purchased the car a while back at approximately 149,000 km. The vehicle has been regularly serviced at the local mb dealer by the previous owner.
Thanks for the hints of possible things to keep a look out for.
Clean or replace injectors
Spark plugs
Condition of the pulleys and the belt
Condition of the radiator (they have plastic ends so they tend to crack, hoses)
Radiator, brakes, steering, AT fluids (diff too if you have limited)
Lastly, beware of the dreaded ESL faulty issue.
Engine Oil and filter, Transmission Oil And filter, Diff fluid (if you have the LSD), Coolant, Brake fluid, and Power Steering.
Regular Maintenance:
Air Filter, Cabin Filter, Serpentine belt and Pulleys replaced, Brake Pads and Rotors, Spark Plugs, Fuel Injectors, Sunroof track clean and lube.
More advanced stuff?
Check for oil leaks every oil change and replace gaskets as necessary.
Disassemble and clean your intake manifold (if no catch can).
IAT sensor when you feel like it at some point in the car’s life.
Inspect suspension bushings and arms for wear every other oil change and replace as needed.
Check your manual for when to do all of the above. IAT sensor won’t be in the manual but passed on knowledge from previous models, at $30 it’s cheap insurance as they say when coupled with the intake manifold work.
