Liquimoly ceratec, proline engine flush and 5-40 oil review
Hey everyone, so like many of you I have been using liquimoly’s purple 5-40 oil and love it, but as my c63 sedan hit approx 155,300 miles I decided to give it a proper service. I used LM differential fluid, LM trans fluids, oem coolant flush, and oem brake fluid. I have been hearing many reviews on the LM proline flush and ceratec so I figured I’d give it a try. The car has long tube headers, European filters and a dyno tune, the car went to the shop for a p2196 o2 sensor code which I also replaced. My last recent oil service was about 1k miles ago and the shop mistakenly used Mobil 0-40 which I don’t personally like as it makes my motor noisier etc, these where the steps and straight away results of the 3 products in the title
1- pour 2 cans of proline flush and let idle for 13 mins
2- drain all oil from oil cooler and car
3- pour 5 liters of 5-40 followed by 2 cans of ceratec
4- add remaining oil
5- turn on car let idle for 30 seconds then bring revs to 2500
6- wait 15 mins, check oil, I overfilled slightly so I removed some, I instantly saw the oil and ceratec was a mixed color
After letting the car sit, and then re start I noticed it was a noticeable amount quieter at idle and after driving the car definitely ran cooler, in 82 degrees I am usually at ~222 oil temp And 212 coolant, now I’m at 212-215 oil and 195-197 coolant
