Ac full but no cold air. Compressor?
Hi guys just got a C63 2013 P31
at some point 4 years ago the old owner toke the engine out to fix something and never refilled the A/c .
did a vacuum test and found a leak where the line enters the condenser . Changed the onring
filled the system and the car still no cold
would running a empty compressor for 4 years damage it? If there a built in system to protect of this?
anyway to test the compressor ?
thanks guys

An empty compressor will never engage. If full the clutch will engage and start to cool. If full and the compressor does not cool change the compressor, but dont forget to put a set of gauges on the car before you do anything

if you're using a decent diagnostic tool you'll be able to manually engage the compressor. if nothing happens, you can then proceed to monitor live data. this will report your line pressure, temperatures, voltages, etc.

After some reading the compressor always spins in our cars , it’s a new type with no clutch
if very low on Freon it will burn and shread a pin
