W204 507 C63 (2015) oil change question

Hello,

recently purchased this car, and I understand I should change the oil more frequently than what MB recommends.

During my research on the car, I remember seeing a tech on here saying I should ask for washers or something after the change is done to ensure it was done correctly.

I do not remember what I should be asking for, and can’t find the post anymore. Anyone have a clue?

thanks!

Maybe he was referring to changing the washer on the oil drain plug. I think it comes with the oil filter.

You have to ask for new drain plug washers for the sump and oil cooler if you are buying the parts and doing the oil change yourself.

If you are having someone else do the change you can ask to see the used washers to ensure the plugs were pulled and the washers changed for new ones.

Sometimes the dealer will suck the oil out of the sump with a vacuum pump and no plugs will be pulled or washers changed.

If you are having a dealer or Indie perform the service ask your SA how their shop performs the service.

If the dealer is vacuuming it on this card they are not technically doing the procedure correctly as that will not empty the oil cooler, so I would request it is drained properly from the sump and cooler if someone says they are going to vacuum it.
