So my winter tire wheels are 18x8.5 45 offset. I have used 235/40/18 and 255/35/18 winters on these wheels and now need new set of winter tires. The 235 on a 8.5 wide wheel seem to be just a bit small. The wheel seem to stick out a bit past the tire. I am thinking of going up a size for front to 245/40/18 and then same size for rear 255/35/18 for the new set. Just wanted to know if I got the right size before ordering the new tires.
As they are your winter set and if all your wheels are 8.5" then just go 245/40x18 all round.
This will allow for rotation if a couple of wheels are wearing quicker than the other 2.
