2012 C63 MCT transmission fluid change
Anyone know how much blue low friction Pentasin trans fluid is used in changing the transmission fluid in a 2012 C63 722.9 MCT trans? I had a shop drain the transmission and refill it and it only took 4.2L when the info I had found said 9 litres. I'm worried they underfilled it even though they said they ran it to proper temp and filled it till it overflowed out of tube in pan.
Anyone know if this is normal fill volume? Thanks for the feedback.

Not sure how much will come out with a drain, what I do know is if you just pull the plug you don't get a lot, then you have to take a screwdriver up in the filler hole and pop off the filler extension that is about 2 inches long, once it is off you get a bunch more fluid, but then you will still have an inch or more fluid in the bottom fo the pan that will never drain from the plug unless you remove the pan, so pan has to come off to do it properly.

Thanks very much. I have been driving the car for a week since the change and no codes have appeared and it seems to shift ok, but also seems to slip or hard shift sometimes in comfort mode at low speeds or when coming to a stop sometimes but it may have been doing that before the fluid change too, - I'm not sure.
If the transmission wasn't filled back up sufficently, would it throw a code?

The shop did remove the pan and they used a transimission kit with an installed new gasket and bolts and filler level tube and filter so hopefully it was done properly.
I'm still confused about the variance in how many litres of fluid to fill the transmission but another poster, roadtalon mentioned that it might be because of some residual fluid left in the clutch packs or torque converter.

There’s a good ~1.0L in the lines from the transmission to the cooler and the cooler itself.
in order to empty the is you need to run a pump or vacuum on one of the lines and empty it. You can also simply removes the return line after the transmission has been filled with fresh fluid filter etc and run it until the return line from the cooler runs clean fluid. Then refill transmission to the correct level.
But just dropping the trans pan is usually gets around 5 L if I remember correctly so you are probably in the correct range for that
