Missing repair history
Hi all,
Been in dialogue with a seller of a FL 2011 well equipped C63 P31 with 81K miles on the clock. Unfortunately there is no documentation of previous repairs or part replacements available.
Let's say it has been service accordingly, how important are previous parts repair history to you?
The way I see it, the repair history are important so I can get an understanding of what parts been replaced and what might needing a replacement soon.

Personally, repair history is important to me. Unless the car is rare. In your case, I would first know if the car has the old head bolts or not. Also, get a PPI done in a Mercedes dealer and let them pay extra attention to engine timing via SDS, and listen to any abnormal noises coming from the Camshafts, buckets, and adjusters.
If you have the VIN type it here to know regarding the head bolts.
Good luck.

I´m guessing you´re from Sweden?
I called local dealer before i was buying my c63.
He named something like USA and middle east market is having a lot of problems us in Europe never see´s.
The headbolt problem is far less spread here in Europe for an example.
The worn out camadjusters is also far less reported.
He was guessing it was the climate 'over there' that was the main reason.

I have not considered headbolts being an issue after checking up engine number (156985 60 067581). But the cam adjusters and lifters has been a worried part for me so I appreciate you sharing this information of positive news of our cold climate I am more worried of the potential risk replacing multiple of parts as I cannot back track any being replaced by previous owners. As a principal rule I always want to see this history because it's also gives an indication how well kept the car been.
