Exhaust Question
Im getting ready to update the exhaust on my C63 Black Series. Currently I have Weistec long tube headers and highflow primary cats that are tied into stock exhaust from that point back.
Im planning on doing a 2ndary cat and res delete on the center section and having a local shop run 3" pipe from the primary cats all the way back to the OEM mufflers (like the sound of the OEM mufflers, unless you can change my mind on something better).
Looking at designs out there some have x-pipe and some don't? Is there a reason for this? I would think an x-pipe or h-pipe would be beneficial.
Also, do you see any benefit from me also removing the highflow primary cats as well? Would there be any noticeable difference?
Do you think this is a good idea or should I just buy a full header back system ??
I know this level of loud is not for everyone but Im a fan.

I personally don’t like the sound of a divorced dual exhaust. The pulses from bank to bank are not even on a cross plane V8.
It’ll sound like the engine as a slight miss.
So, yes to the X pipe.
But, if you’ve got the cash for a C63BS and a whole bunch of Weistec hardware I’d just get a turn key 321 stainless header back exhaust system.
If you like the sound of the stock mufflers, 3” center section fabbed in won’t do much good. The pipes aren’t that big in the way back.
Ive been toying with adapting a Borla crossfire center section from a mustang into my car.
