Check the oil level cold or warmed up?
I have a question for all the owners who have had their W204 C63's for several years, - how do you check your oil level? I ask this because I've owned my 2012 C63 for 2 1/2 months now and I've done an oil change but when I check the oil level when the car is cold in the garage, the level is up to the top of the upper most level indicator bumps on the dipstick, - and when I check it after the car has run for 10 min or so, the level is between the two indicator bumps. So is my engine filled with too much oil or not? Sorry to be unsure about this but I've been told that I shouldn't have too much oil in the engine as it will cause foaming and poor oil circulation.

On any car, oil level should be checked on level ground at operating temperature, but let the car sit for a few minutes to give the oil time to drip down back into the oil pan. If you check right after having driven the car, part of the oil is in the engine and not in the oil pan. It has to frist collect again in the oil pan.

On any car you should read the manual.
It says run the car to temp and wait 5 minutes before checking.
