Hypothetical scenario, you just got a 50k miles 2013 PPP C63, what do you do?

What upgrades or maintenance do you immediately do in this situation?

Vehicle has been maintained at Mercedes throughout its life and is completely stock.

Injectors? Transmission service?

  • Engine oil and oil filter replacement
  • Air filter replacement
  • Spark plug replacement
  • Transmission fluid and filter replacement
  • Rear axle fluid replacement
  • Brake fluid flush
  • Power steering fluid flush
I would do this as a start regardless of the documented service history because a simple inspection of these items will tell you what kind if life the car has lived. Injector replacement would be a good idea although some recommend that replacement is only necessary at earliest 60k miles.

After this I'd look at rotor and pad condition and replacement if necessary and definitely new tyres if the existing ones are shot because quality tyres is a must on these cars. The above should be done before any performance mods are considered if you want a reliable performance car for many years into the future.

Well it should have had a transmission service if maintained by Mercedes at 40k miles or 4 years and the same with limited slip diff if you have one, so good to do as the other stuff above if you can't confirm when it was last done.

Injectors might be a good idea, I did mine after 5 or 6 years as they tend to have issues with leaking. Belts and pulleys might be good to do, pulleys tend to get noisy after a while, mine where a bit rough after 6 years so I changed them.

Inspect your engine mounts for leaks and valve covers tend to leak also so good to inspect, otherwise cams, lifters and cam adjusters are good to inspect if you get any ticking or tapping noises from the valve train.

First thing is closely review all service records and verify required services have been performed...plugs, brake fluid, oil etc....cross reference with service manual.
After that: wheels, aero parts and go fast mods too if you're into that

AND ENJOY da powa!

The service history goes A,B,A,B,A,B all at main dealers so I assume that means all the necessary stuff has been done but it is due an oil change again so I will be taking it to an independant ASAP.

So no modifications that are game changers? I am not just talking about power as when I first got a BMW, the list of mods to improve the handling was long!

Twin turbo with a sequential shift transmission! That would be a game changer, do it up and post pics

Hypothetically? Put in a flux capacitor and make sure you never set it for 2020-2021.

Final plan:

Engine oil and oil filter replacement - Definitely.
Air filter check - should have been replaced recently.
Spark plug replacement - need to check detailed SH to see when they were changed.
Transmission fluid and filter replacement - Definitely
Rear axle fluid replacement - Definitely
Brake fluid flush - Definitely
Power steering fluid flush - Definitely
I will replace injectors before 60k as I have read quite a few people have done this and noticed an improvement. I also don't want any risk of hydrolocking.
