Disaster! Bent wheel; looking to buy a set.

While returning from installing two new rear wheels, I bent the fro

nt right wheel when I could not avoild hitting a metal part lying in the middle of the road. Now looking to buy a complete set of four identical original black wheels in good condition. Any leads would be greatly appreciated.

Best,

Where are you located? I have a set of S211 AMG wheels.

You haven't said what model wheel you want?
Or do just want any black set of wheels.
You're lucky the wheel bent and didn;t just crack and explode like most cast wheels would with an impact that hard.

Looks like it may be the 507 wheels which are forged if I am not mistaken

I thought same but thought I would ask "Canica"
If it is forged then it would be repairable.
I've had bent BBS forged wheels repaired before about AU$250 repaired and painted each.
Still cheaper than trying to buy a new 507 wheel.

I'd be tempted to bend it back. What's the worst that can happen?

Thanks for your replies. It is indeed a set of original wheels for my 2014 507 sedan.

There are shops out there which can straighten it out. I had one of my front wheels corrected a few years back.

I agree, Reputable shops can straighten them. In my Porsche racing days (964RS) I bent the magnesium wheels several times and managed to get them straightened no problem.

Thanks to all for your kind repiles and my apologies for the lateness of my reply. The saga continues! Insurance agreed to replace wheel and tire with new OEM ones. Premium was US$1,250.00. Cost for the wheel at my dealership where the repair was domiciled is US$2,650.00. Cost for the tire is US$500.00. I was advised yesterday by my contacts within the dealership that MB Germany had replied to their purchase request, that the wheel is no longer carried nor available. I am now in dire need of locating an MB dealership anywhere in the world that has a new, OEM black 507 front wheel available for sale. Alternatively, any other vendor who has the brand new wheel available. I would be very, very grateful for your help!!! If I am unable to source a brand new wheel, I would have to forego the insurance claim and go the used wheel route. Thanks in advance for your help!

Wait they want to charge you $2650 to repair the wheel? No way that can be right.

I’d be interested in purchasing your current set, including the bent wheel, if you do decide to go with a different set.

FYI, that should be a pretty easy fix for a reputable wheel repair shop.

Upon further inspection he literally said both repair and replace but it doesn't seem English is a first language. $500 is also an insane price for a tire.

Thanks for your replies. The quoted cost of a new wheel, which is no longer available, was US$2,650.00. I would like to get a new wheel, as I do not trust a repair, and in any event I would have to have it repaired in the US since good wheel repair is not available in Mexico. I will be keeping my wheels just in case they are needed. The normal cost of the tire ( as I just purchased two new rear ones) is about US$300.00 down here ( Michelin Pilot Sport 4S).

Best,
