Check engine oil at next refueling
Hey guys,
I'm getting this message on my 507 after a long road trip. Thought I was running low on oil so added a quart.
"Check engine oil at next refueling"
Message showed up again and dipstick showed level slightly above minimum. Added another quart.
Now oil level reads at max level on a cold check.
But I still get this message every time I drive within the first 5 minutes -- any thoughts?
I have a service coming up if that makes any difference.
Is the message telling me to check level of oil or the color / quality of oil?
What device can I use to read the code for this message?
Thanks!

The message is telling you to check the oil level. Check when the engine is fully warmed up. Let it sit for 5 minutes before you check the level.
If the level is correct maybe your sensor is bad.

Checked oil after driving for a while, waited 5min for first reading.
Repeated 6 times, the pictures below show what it looked like on average.
I don't know why its so hard to get a consistent reading on this car....
Anyways, it looks like there might be too much oil now?
It looks like the oil streak ends a few mm above the top-most red marker.
I added the first quart myself. Message still came so took it to dealer and they added another quart.
Message still coming within 10min of driving.
Have we added too much oil?
And will "Check engine oil at next refueling" show up if the level is too HIGH?
Thanks

I would suck a little out if you can. If not drain some or drain and refill. You likely have the crankshaft lobes dipping into it causing foaming at this point which is not good. You might actually be able to hear it slapping if you listen carefully. Your dealer can likely suck some out and adjust the level for you if you can't do it yourself.
