722.9 MCT Leaking
Anyone had or having issues with their MCT venting out fluid when driving hard in Manual mode? Had a big trail of white smoke behind my car when transmission fluid temps got up to 85C yesterday while driving hard. Only leaks/vents out fluid when driven hard. No leaks when normal driving in C, S or S+.
had it on a lift today seems like it’s coming from the top of the transmission. I thought it was my pan gasket but wasn’t. Thanks

also 85°C (185F) does not seem very high for trans temps

Never ever have I lost transmission fluid, even when overheating the trans. I’m not even aware that it has a vent.
Now on the other hand, the rear diff definitely does have a vent, and is known to puke fluid when hot. Sure it’s not that?

damn so it’s definitely something wrong with my transmission. The dealer said it was the body housing gasket but I still think it’s the transmission pan gasket that’s making it leak. Was fine untill I let the dealer do a trans service. The first time they installed the pan gasket wrong. Took it back they did another trans service. Few months later driving the car hard leaked again. Only happens in manual mode which is weird. Now the dealer is not trying to take fault that because of their trans service my MCT is leaking. So they said it’s my housing body gasket and wanted to drop my trans and get 5k from me. SMH

In case this helps only time on my 507 I let the dealer service the trans it leaked they claimed the crush wash leaked but was way too much to be getting past the washer. They fixed it but still found it leaking a few months later so took it all apart and did a new seal and bolts and still leaking front right corner. Ended up getting a new pan, they are pretty cheap around 100 bucks but a straight edge on the old on and front corner was slightly bent letting oil past the seal, never an issue since dry as a bone.

Had the exact same symptoms as you.
Took my car to the dealer few years ago while still under warranty for transmission service. Any time I would step on it it would overflow and smoke like crazy.
They overfilled it.

Update on my problem
1st thing I have to say is don’t ever bring your AMG to a dealer. They all ****ing suck. So after the dealer trying to blame my transmission housing gasket casing the leak I decided to say **** them and will never go back to that dealer for anything ever again and ordered everything I needed for a transmission fluid change plus a new pan. Did the service myself since I have amg performance media so it was pretty easy monitoring my trans oil temp to fill. It’s been about a week of driving around like a mad man trying to make my transmission leak but has been dry as a bone. So the problem was the dealer didn’t seal my pan correctly and it was about 1qt overfilled when I drained it. Thanks to everyone that helped me narrow down this problem that almost made me trade my car in
