You guys are right , as what I meant is that tire manufacturers usually only use carcass width as their measure, not tread width.
Like I said before Tire Rack is the only reseller I've found that gives you tread width.
On my last car I ran Continental SC3 (275/35x18) and they were a bigger carcass but less tread than the Michelin PS4 I replaced them with.

Bringing this back up as everything is fitted but we cannot get the front height to sit 1 finger gap to match the rear (which is set at KW’s max recommended drop) because of how KW design their coilovers they give less room for wider wheels/tyres than the stock suspension.

The Kw clubsport perch touches the tyre so we had to use a 5mm spacer but if I wanted the front lower it would need something stupid like a 20mm spacer which I can’t use and neither would I want to.

On the E92 M3 forums they changed the main spring from a 170mm to a 140mm and it put the perch above the tyre (As KW should have made it) letting them run the car low without spacers.

I tried going from the stock 200mm spring to a 170mm spring but without a helper spring (which ours dont come with) you could hear the spring unseating, We had to put some preload back in which raised the car to not as low as we wanted again but solved the noise issue with unseating of the spring.

Any other suggestions? KW UK said a helper spring may help and offered me about 5 to choose from with no other help.

Is there any adjustment on the knuckle that allow for more adjustment away from the strut?

Sorted the issue now, added a shorter spring and a helper spring.

Major design flaw with running KW’s putting the spring perch in line with the tyre. It’s fine if running an 8 or 8.5” front wheel but as soon as you move to 9” and 255 front it was too close. I am surprised not many others have had this issue without running a massive front spacer.
