'86 Buick Grand National, '99 Honda CRV w/300,000 miles!
Transmission issue?
Occasionally when I back out of my driveway and shift my C63s into drive my engine will rev up to 2,500-3,000 before the car starts to move. Has anyone experienced this? Solutions/suggestions?

Mine also does the same in reverse when cold.
My driveway is uphill and doesn't matter which way around my car is, it sometimes flares when cold.
This happens especially if I have to stop for pedestrians while still on the slope.
This does not happen when engine/trans is hot (normal temp).

Pretty normal there are a few other threads on it and both of mine have done it to some degree, I also find if you come to a complete full stop before putting it in drive it does it much less often but seems it is a bit slow to engage the clutch when cold especially when going from R to D, once warmed up I have never experienced it.

The C63 AMG 2013 facelift doesn´t have a torque converter?. What difference does this make with the prefacelift version?

exactly so in the prefacelift it doesn’t do this. This is unique to the mct transmission

No. The pre-facelift C63 uses a standard torque converter. The face-lift C63 (2012+) uses a wet clutch immersed in oil instead of a torque converter that allows for quicker shifts and mechanical coupling of the engine to the wheels (so when you lift off you get the same engine braking that you would on a car with a manual). Wowe I did not knew this. Which transmission is better, the prefacelift version or the newer one. Which one is smoother?
