ESS Supercharger discontinued?
I can't seem to find the ESS Supercharger on the ESS website, vivid have also pulled theirs.
Wonder if they've gone the way of magnusson and stopped offering blowers for the M156.

they marked them as discontinued because they were tired of filling orders as they had many big batch orders for different platforms they had to work. they'll start production again in 2022.
the ESS kit also will not have the ability to maximize the potential of the 2.9L Whipple since their kit is built to utilize a 6 rib belt.

Thanks for your input Barry. Would you say that the Weistec S1 or S2 is a superior unit to the ESS for that/another reasons?
I know that a lot of the big power cars are all running Weistec S3 systems, which should tell me something

go with Weistec or PTG gents

It's unfortunate the belt design of the ESS kit isn't as good, but I chose it for the reasons of a) it looks mostly stock under the hood, b) parts seemingly have better build quality c) factory tune has the torque dialed back abit during low RPM but slowly applies it back as you get higher in the band.

Big power also means transmission upgrades, budget accordingly.

Its a damn shame that the magnusson kit is no longer available. That was a nice bit of kit.
I've been investigating the place local/national to me who can work on the pfl gearbox and strengthen it accordingly. It seems like ill have to send it to the otherside of the country to have it worked on

ESS kit is reliable and good. I run this kit on mine for the last 3 years and has been great. May not win the 1/4 mile times but more than make up at 1/2 mile and 1 mile.
No issues with transmission either. Mine is a Facelift 2013 car.

Yeah the ESS kit looks way nicer than the weistec unit. But, at the end of the day I'd prefer a car that runs reliably than looks good. Not saying or suggesting that the ESS kit isn't as reliable as thw weistec unit.

ESS will be better than Weistec's Stage 1 and 2 in terms of design and simplicity and power production.
Wiestec Stage 3 will be better than ESS for max power as its 8 rib design will allow for more boost through appropriate pulley size.

This is for sale on eBay...I contacted the person selling it. They are willing to take offers on it if you message them. I had some questions and what I found out was the Gen 3 Stage 3 Weistec charger was on the car for 5k miles for one summer and was installed last summer. It was a brand new unit when installed 67mm pulley.
BRAND NEW (never used) direct port meth kit with a 9th nozzle in the throttle body housing of the charger.
Both pulleys 67mm and BRAND NEW 60mm.
Custom Front Mount Dual Pass Heat Exchanger,
Dual 82mm Throttle Bodies w/ custom plates (Housing ported to match)
It's also drilled for nitrous in the throttle body housing so you can add a nitrous kit if you want.
with Magnuson gone and ESS facing production issues and a new Stage 3 at $14200.....this used charger on eBay would be a deal with all of the upgrades and some money off.it's listed for 12K
