ESS Supercharger Service

Hi chaps,

It’s not due yet but at some point I’ll need to service the ESS charger on my car. I’m struggling to find info out regarding correct oil type and quantity, and a TSB on how this is done. ESS have ignored a previous email request. Can anyone point me in the correct direction?

Cheers 😎

I have a gen 3 ESS on one of my cars and it uses this: https://vortechsuperchargers.com/pro...nt=20855443143

Takes one bottle. Mine has a drain hose that runs via from the bottom of the unit to the bottom of the car. Open and drain. On the unit there will be a oil fill plug, likely allen (hex) wrench.

If yours is a twin screw and it seems like Mercedes is then it won't use the above.

Thank you. According to the ESS site though, this isn’t the correct oil for the twin screw on the M156.

No idea yet, I won’t drain it until I can replace it.

Interesting thread on this forum about the TS oil https://www.e46fanatics.com/threads/...#post-16672762

Seems to point to this as being the equivalent:
Amazon Amazon

One of the other guys on this forum is bound to have hit this and will comment since it looks as though Vortech P/N is no longer available.

Seems generic but says 5-50wt full synthetic motor oil.
