Headbolts, Lifters, Cam Adjusters DIY
Hello All,
First time posting a thread here, but have spent a lot of time on the forum throughout the years... Posting this here in hopes this may help a few people out. This job was done on my 08' ML63 but everything will apply to any 63 and the ML55/ML63 section has for a while now been silent, plus without a rant, I don't know why those two vehicles were paired for a shared section... Anyway, that said, I have visited and learned a lot from the W204 C63 section and wanted to pay some info back so figured I would post here.
I replaced the headbolts preventatively soon after purchasing and decided while I was in there (car people know that phrase all too well..) to do the upgraded SLS lifters, ARP cam phaser bolts and 63Motorsports cam adjuster plates and titanium hardware.
I had zero experience working on the M156 prior to this job but am generally DIY 'savvy'? The job in total took about 18hrs, that was condensed down into 1hr+ of video, hopefully by skipping around or watching through it can help a few people out that go for this job.
Many thanks to all the people who share a wealth of knowledge to this forum, this is one of the sections that still remains fairly active and is nice to visit here and there to see what's new. Any questions, comments or whatever else, feel free to send my way!
