Help Afd e85 kit
Hi i just recently purchased the (afd kit) advanced fuel dynamics kit for my 13 c63 as of now i have headers drop in filters and custom tune by eurocharged. As you guys may know the afd kits are plug and play no tuning required Thats what they claim at least. I was told different by eurocharged they told me i needed a retune because i will be installing the kit and bigger injectors. Anyways i know i would need a retune to get all the power i can for e85 but i just wanted to figure out if I’m able to install the kit with the injectors and drive down to eurocharged and get retuned the drive is kinda far about 4 hours and wanted to know if it’s safe driving there with the kit on and bigger injectors. I could have eurocharge install it for me but i would rather do the install myself and save me the money. If anyone can help and give me answers. Thanks!

If you wanna do all that bring some tools with you and get it done by the time you get there lol. 4 hours is quite a bit of ways just depends on how your car acts without the tune. You don’t want to be dumping fuel and wash out your cylinders by the time you get there. I personally wouldn’t risk it for 2 hours of labor.

it'll run without your tune being adjusted for the larger injectors, but won't be ideal. and flex fuel piggybacks aren't ideal either. dedicated e85 tunes will always perform better.

I just chose this thread to give an advice regarding e85, not meaning to flame the TS-
However.
Analyse your usage of your vehicle before deciding to convert to E85.
E85 engine demands oilchange more often, good standard is to make interval half as long as oem interval.
But now to the bad part.
IF using your car for just weekends and such(trackdays etc etc) not running the engine every day and never run engine for a long cruise, you need to change the oil even more often.
This due to E85 collects moisture.
And as the E85 makes it´s way down into the oilsump(small amounts of fuel always do) you are by that also collecting moisture inside the oil.(that´s why the oil get that mayonnaise look)
And moisture in the oil is never good.
This will certanly NOT make your camshafts last forever
And still wanting to try?
Make sure to use the correct oil, study what engine oil is recommended for alcohol engines.
