Question about lifters

I had my lifters replaced and was looking at the old ones. I noticed of the 32 total lifters, only 5 of them are able to be "actuated" by hand meaning if you squeeze them from the bottom, the oil comes out of the hole. The rest of them seem to be seized or I'm just not putting enough pressure.

My question:

Does that mean the 5 are worn out, meaning the springs inside are toast and that's why I'm able to squeeze them by hand?

Or

Are all the others toast, and I only had 5 that were working correctly?

What those vids from Taso's but to me it seems like you should be able to move them easily as it doesn't appear there is any reason it should not it is just a spring under it and it all should move freely.

It would seem if it won't move 2 things could happen, the spring could be collapsed but oil pressure would still fill it and make it work normally or the check valve is maybe stuck or clogged and they have oil in them and it can't get out causing them to feel hard, just some guesses.

You should just be able to pull them apart like tasos and take a look.

Thanks, I'll do that when I get a chance.
