Coolant missing and can't be found
OP - so now you're going to be pressing steel cylinder liners into your engine, which at the very least will also require new aftermarket pistons, rings and possibly rods as the difference in thermal expansion of the aluminum pistons vs. that of the steel cylinder liners is different enough that you'll need a considerably larger cold clearance between the liners and the pistons (or the engine will seize the first time it reaches operating temperature). It probably would have been a lot cheaper to just buy a used short block. Or, there's a bare used M156 block for sale on eBay now for $1500 CAD ($1100 USD) that is allegedly in good condition and would have been another more feasible option. Rebuilding an engine is not financially feasible when you're penny pinching, and especially not for a 13-year-old CLS63. Buying another used 2009-2010 CLS63 would likely end up costing you less than rebuilding the motor in yours... they're going for under $20K CAD ($15K USD) here.
Considering that you didn't know that this is a 32 valve engine and that you thought that "one of the cylinder liners was scratched" on a block that doesn't have liners, I would respectfully suggest that your best course of action at this point may be to just part out the rest of the car and try to minimize your losses.
