Puff of smoke at start

The temperature this morning was 50° out so this may have something to do with it. However when I started my car this morning I noticed a white puff of smoke right at startup that lingered. So I don't think it was steam.

I do know that if it has a slightly bluish tint to it it's typically oil sleeping through the valve train in other cars that I've had. I can confirm that this was not bluish and tint and it was just White. However the fact that it lingered in the air so long bothered me so I thought I would ask for advice.

And now that I think about it I have seen it before, just not as much.
Any advice?

Scared me the first time it happened, did a lot of searching and many many years later and 4 C63's I realized it is totally normal most of the time. What it usually is I find is some unburnt fuel left in the exhaust, it will be gray and linger and smell a bit like fuel. I find it always occurs after I have moved the car with out driving it somewhere, usually out to wash it and then back into the garage and then it sits for a while and the next startup I get the cloud of smoke. Never happens if I drive the car somewhere and park it, only if I just move it and shut it off once or twice without it warming up, then the next cold start will do it unless it sits long enough to evaporate, like more than a few days.

Agreed. I have had this happen on almost every '63' that I have had. The CLK63 Black Series, C63-S, C63 Black Series, E63, and E63-S, and it is usually the same conditions above. I asked my Mercedes dealer and they also supported that it is not something to worry about when it is so intermittent like that.

I have found this same happens to mine when only moving the car in and out of the garage.

Happened to me once when I left the shooting range.

I think consistency of the event is more illuminating than the event itself. \

I would agree with the previous consensus that this car demands to be operated more often.

Leaving your car untouched for more than a week seems to create distemper on start-ups, misfires, white smokes, etc.
