Question Best Smartphone App for Monitoring Temps?

What smartphone apps do people recommend? I have a Kiwi bluetooth dongle that I used to connect my phone to the car's ECU. Most recently have been using Dash Command, but in particular I would like to monitor transmission temperature while on track. I don't mind paying for an app to do this, but I know that features can vary between car models so I don't want to purchase an app only to discover it doesn't do what I want.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks fellas.

I've been using RaceChrono Pro to data log for the track. Easy to use. No complaints so far.

Thanks for the reply, but that wasn't quite what I was asking. Nothing in the description for RaceChrono Pro says anything about monitoring and displaying engine/vehicle vitals. Perhaps you can tell me that it does, but the description in the app store says nothing.

Maybe dig around on their website some more? It has support for OBD-II readers witch = the engine/vehicle vitals you're after. I have mine connected to an external GPS module (it's higher resolution) and an OBDII dongle (OBDLink MX) to data log pretty much everything along with GoPro control so I can sync video with telemetry.

As for the real-time display for a track session. I use an android tablet and show coolant, intake and gearbox temp along with a G meter (for shïts and giggles) and best/current lap time.

Oil temp I use on the AMG screen in the cluster since I haven't figured out a PID for that yet (I haven't searched much to figure that out) and I use an external oil pressure gauge tapped into the oil filter housing.

Thanks for the detailed response. I'll look into that further! Unfortunately, I didn't try it out yesterday at VIR because I have apparently misplaced my bluetooth dongle. Spent 2 hours looking for it Saturday. Oh well

I used this to monitor transmission temp when I did my fluid service. It was the only app I could get to work for trans temp.

For RaceChrono you need to configure a custom PID. It's not available by default.
