DRIVERS SEAT AUTO ADJUSTMENT PROBLEM - 63 507 COUPE
Got in the back of my car yesterday searching for a rattle id heard whilst driving and noticed my drivers side seat auto seat forward/back had stopped working! Other than that the seat is fully functional! Forward, back, up/down and headrest all work fine - it just doesn't auto go forward when pulling the seat forward. Anyone else had a similar problem and any tips? My car is a 2013 C63 507 coupe
I have tried unplugging and re plugging all the plugs underneath, which didn't work. I have also disconnected the battery and left it for half hour which also did nothing.
I have left the car on trickle charge all day today to see if it could perhaps be a battery related issue (i doubt this though because the passenger seat still works perfectly fine)
Is there a seperate fuse for this function that perhaps couldve gone? What fuses should i check?
Any tips or things to try are appreciated! Thanks.
Trickle charging the battery is about as useful in this particular case as letting some air out of your tires... not going to help in any way. If disconnecting and reconnecting the seat control module (or the battery which essentially also resets it) didn't help, chances are either it or the microswitch need to be replaced.
The headrest does not go up down automatically at current no, but on the door switch is does adjust manually.
I had it plugged in on a fault code reader yesterday evening which said
"THE POSITION SENSOR OF THE ACTUATOR MOTOR FOR HEAD RESTRAINT ADJUSTMENT IS FAULTY. THE SIGNAL DOES NOT EXIST" STORED - 9DBD31"
AND
"NORMALIZATION OF THE HEAD RESTRAINT ADJUSTMENT HAS NOT YET BEEN CARRIED OUT. CALIBRATION IS ABSENT. CURRENT AND STORED - 9DAB54"
So most likely this is what is causing the issue - In to the main dealer it will have to go i think
If the replacement of that sensor requires that they remove the leather seat back cover, you probably wouldn't want to tackle it yourself unless you're good at repairing shoes or leather furniture. I'm hoping they can get to it by removing just the plastic back, hopefully with the seat still in place.
