Angry Deep Stretch in the front bumper

I turned into my garage like an idiot and scraped the front bumper, should I go through insurance or take it to the body shop and repair it out of pocket? any ideas as to what the damage could be? do I need a bumper replacement?

I would drive around and get 3-5 qoutes from reputable shops and fix it myself, probably not worth the insurance hassle. You could probably get that taken care of fixed and repainted entire bumper for under 1k

Uyuni White paint on my GV80 bumper was off color so much some people thought it was repainted when it really wasn't. Like he said ^ Nobody will ever know. Plastic parts never match the metal parts perfectly anyways.

I got quoted around 2k for much less in the front bumper.

That's also from the "pay a lot but fix a lot" shop.

I'd really not recommend going through your insurance if you can afford to fix it yourself because insurance premiums are out of this world already.

got quotes from over 7 body shops and all of them recommend a patch and not bumper replacement, the cheapest quote I got is 600$ the quotes varied from 600-1200$ so i guess ill just patch.
