W204 C63

Engine Auxiliary Water Pump

Hi All, I have a 2008 C63 PP - I need to swop out my Coolant Auxiliary Pump which shouldn't be a problem. The question is why do some C63's have one located next to the coolant reservoir and others don't?? Do those cars not need one, or do they have one located elsewhere? Thanks in advance

Can you post a picture, I have never seen an auxiliary coolant pump on a w204 c63.... have no idea what it would be for either.

3.0L Whipple E63 AMG

They allow the heater to work while the engine is off. I personally deleted mine from my E63 to make room for my Weistec Oil Catch can.

Thanks for the reply - So do you know if this was an optional extra on the vehicle as I am the 2nd owner - it would explain why not all c63's have it..

Yes, it was a feature option primarily used in cars in cold climates.

You can bypass it if you don't use that feature.

Ahhh right - That makes sense.. Mine is making some crazy sounds and my concern and reason for stopping it out, with nog knowing it's purpose was that it could be hindering or even blocking the cooling system from doing its job.. For what the pump costs I think I will swop it rather than delete.. Thanks again..
