Custom Valentine 1 Install - Plug and Play

I needed a way to cleanly hard wire in the Valentine 1 on my C63 so I built a custom plug and play wiring harness that breaks out 12v from the overhead light console. I also added in a small 12v buck regulator to power the dash cam with 5v as well, and it sits cleanly in the windshield with 3M adhesive at the very top out of the way. Unfortunately for Mercedes cars, there's no easy way to mount a radar detector cleanly like with most other cars, which can be mounted from the rear view mirror stalk with something like a Blend Mount, nor are there existing plug and play harnesses available for the car.

Parts are easily purchased on Digikey with this parts list: https://www.digikey.com/en/mylists/list/JXN6DO7MDE
You will also need some wires, I used some 18g Tefzel wire from ProWire for this project to keep it clean and neat.
You'll also need a crimping tool to crimp the wires and build the harness. If interested, I can show a full tutorial for this.
Black felt tape is used to bundle the harness together and keep it looking factory fresh.

with that mounted high up, does that interfere with the sensor for the rear?

it probably does, but honestly I don't worry too much about the rear. The V1 will still pick up the signal, but it takes longer for the direction finding arrows to transition to the rear vs my other cars where I have it mounted on the rear mirror stalk using a BlendMount. Laser probably also only works from the front too, I can't image the rear laser sensor can see much mounted that high up.

I ran the hardwire kit to the fuse box in the trunk and then cut out the wasted space in the center console to put the concealed display (I lived in VA).
