Taking the car to a mechanic in a week just wanted to get some opinions to prepare myself for repair costs 😂 has anyone experienced this before or know what may be causing the leak?
no lights on dash
It seems to be driving normally aside from maybe slight hesitation from 0-5mph
looks like it’s leaking a bit of oil and appears to be a small amount of white smoke coming out of exhaust

The mechanic is going to make some money.
The oil on the drivers side doesn't look like its coming from the gasket more so, someone missing the hole refilling oil.
The white smoke and the hesitation has nothing to do with the little oil on the valve covers.
I would clean both areas and try to tighten the bolts on the passenger side valve cover before you go and see a mechanic.

If the 2 photos are of the same side of the engine I would agree with sventastis82 repair and check ideas, the oil you see would most likely be from spillage when it was last changed.
The first thing I recommend is washing the engine and making a really good job at the top of the valve covers.
The result of the cleaning is you could drive it and see is the oil reappears, would most likely be the rubber gasket under the cam cover which definitely don't do unless first cleaned the engine to remove any grit from that area.
