Hey everyone, on my 09 C63 my rear left taillight went out, i checked the ground wire after some reading online and it’s pretty fried. The black harness/clip for the wiring into the backing plate for the lights is burned through, aswell as the backing plate.
I would like to repair this myself, does anyone have any knowledge on this? The videos i’ve seen involve soldering on a higher gauge ground wire and replacing damaged parts.
Any insight would be helpful, thank you! I have an indy shop appointment for next week if i can’t figure this out but at 200/hr I would like to see if I can do it! Thanks again
I believe there was a recall on this problem. Check to see if it was done. If not maybe you can still get it done. If not separate and replace the ground wire from the plastic plate and run it separate of the connector if you can using a heavier gauge wire.

Thank you, I called the dealer and the recall has already been done it seems! So looks like i’ll have my hand at it before bringing it in
