Are all ESU Emulators equal?
Getting ready to take care of this before it strikes for real. Have owned the car just over a year now and have had 2 times lately where I've turned the key and nada, so assuming this crap is trying to rear its ugly head.
Are the emulators basically the same or is one the go-to and others to avoid?

For reference the Electronic Steering Lock (ESL) communicates to the Electronic Ignition Switch (EIS)
Most of those ESL emulators are pretty much all the same hardware wise. I have an Mk3 unit (https://www.mk3.com/mercedes-benz-es...-lock-emulator) which you can find for 20 bucks. The difference is who offers the programming since your EIS and a functional key is required. I used someone local to me and it was next day turnaround using FedEx. It could have been same day if I drove an hour but I wasn't in a rush.
