Please help me with this mysterious sound
I bought my c63 back in February and its only got 77k on the clock. I’ve recently started hearing a sound only when the car is being started after its sat for a good amount of time. Ive done some research and looks like most people are saying its the cam adjusters but from the sound clips ive heard it doesnt have the same sound. If it matters ive just got my oil changed at autonation(where i bought the car) and now this sound is present. Maybe i need to use a thicker oil? Car also runs great no issues and no check engine light.

Sounds like cam adjusters to me.
I would switch to a Mercedes 229.5 specification oil with a 5W40 spec. 0W40 is to thin for our engines.
Also make sure your oil level is:
- measured after the engine has full operating temperature
- at around 75% between min and max.
- measured on a level surface
- after sitting for 5 minutes
Insert and remove the dipstick slowly, wiggling the top of the dipstick in the fully inserted position to enable trapped air to find its way out due to the two o-ring seals on the top of the dipstick. Otherwise the air pressure in the dipstick tube will reduce the reading and lead to overfilling the engine.
The M156 is fairly sensitive to oil over max, leading to foaming and lack of lubrication, as air can then be sucked into the system.

Interesting video, but unfortunately for the non German speaking public it's a bit difficult to understand, but the description seems clear,
