New pulley only squeaks when cold, is this a thing?
Just did belts and pulleys after changing out thermostat due to broken plastic breather part. This sprayed coolant everywhere,no big deal. But now, putting new pulleys on,I get a cyclical squeak when everything is cold. As soon as everything comes up to near operating temps, squeak is gone until next cold start.
The first couple of starts, I assumed some coolant had gotten in a groove and then onto the belt and was causing the upper idler to squeak, but I'm wondering if it's getting more metallic in sound and becoming more pronounced.

Well, I seemed to have gotten a "bad" Gates belt. Swapped out for another Gates I had sitting as an extra and it's working perfectly. Both bought at the same time and the 'bad' one appears perfect. Can't see any defects but it definitely squeals at the same time during the revolution and looks fine in that spot. 🤷♂️
