Dads c63 hood

I believe the Dad's hood has a single inlet in the middle of the hood. Looking back at old posts it was this one. I would take one of these in a heart beat.

that's his modified hood... the carbon fiber one listed above is the later one that he had designed and manufactured in quantities to be purchased.

No I believe he is done making them now I remember contacting him years ago about getting one and he said it's the last run... I never got one and now kick myself as I'd kill for one haha

Suncoast Creations made them but went out of business in 2018. They come up here and on eBay once in awhile, but not many were made. You’re unlikely to find one.

So now that we have a place of purchase, how he fit and will this actually help reduce temps at all?
Looks nice but if it doesn't give some real benefits I can't justify the $2.3k. 🤷♂️

If it's the same as the dads hood I believe it was 38 lbs lighter than the pfl stock hood. The vents do allow heat to be extracted from above the airboxes/headers and at the top rear of the engine also theoretically decreasing drag as the air entering the engine bay has a spot to be extracted

This would reduce your underhood temps. I forget what Keith said they reduced his intake temps from and too but it was a decent amount.

Jump and get the SRG oil cooler upgrade as it really works well. I can vouch for it as I have it installed since around 3 years now

I have a [prefacelift] carbon hood on mine. I have kept the vents shut but I will probably remove them this weekend and see how much it helps with temps.
At the very least, its good for the rubber components, but if you are in a rainy environment, you probably don't want a vented hood anyways.

This is such a weird idea that people have come up with that water touching your engine is bad... driving down the road while it's raining a ton of water is splashed all over the engine and engine bay. Numerous cars with factory vented or open engine bays (usually rear engine cars) and no issues.
