Some or all of these errors in the thread title are present (usually) when starting the car. Sometimes it's just one code. Sometimes several or all. Sometimes after driving 5 minutes they all go away and car behaves normally. Sometimes when I start if I wait 2-3 seconds for computer to recognize all of those codes it will not let me shift out of park. Turn off car. Open/close door twice, restart, and immediately shift to reverse/drive and it works. Or, pop the shifter boot and press the lever release, it works. Other times, codes are present and no issue shifting out of park.
WTH is going on? This happened all of a sudden after it was sitting in driveway. I started it to move back 20 ft so I could navigate in front of the car with stuff. When I restart 4 hours later to pull forward to original location, this dash lit up like a 🎄.
Searched for other threads but didn't see one that encompasses all of these oddities. Of note, it was been sitting a while, and the battery was clearly low by how slowly it cranked to start when these errors happened. I've since trickle charged it back to full charge.
Is it possible to the low power screwed up a computer, or perhaps the native state of the battery is enough to start, but not proper voltage to power the computers? Current voltage (I drove the car yesterday) is 11.84V
Your ABS module likely failed. Need to get it rebuilt, or get a replacement ABS module. Can you pull the codes / code history with freeze frame data to see what exact codes it's throwing?
Unless there is an obvious fault code there is no way that is getting diagnosed on the forum. Likely some sort of can issue. Once can shorts out it kills intercommunication between all the modules on it. Theres 3-4 different can networks on the 204 depending on options.
