Hello fellow mercedes fans
posting from holland so excuse me if my english might not be the best
last year i bought a couple of c63 w204 models from usa by auction.
first one i finished a while ago and already drove some 2k kilometers
the last problem to be fixed is that refuelling is a pain in the ***, the fuelling gun stops within every second when fully pressed.
And the car drops every now and than code 0970 and 0954
valve/pressure sensor charcoal canister (my obd reader says in direct translating pressure sensor/valve active carbon reservoir is stuck in position)…
so i figured out there must be the problem and also my fuelling problem…
i swapped the complete charcoal canister from another car. no result at al. Secondly i let the big breather hose leading to the canister disconected so it could breath no matter what. Still no luck. Also did i put some air pressure on the tank. the breather hose looks like its open and ventilating.
So now i am thinking about the filling neck….
And i need some help/advice. Does somebody know if there is any difference in the USA and european filling necks? Maybe because whe have different filling guns??
Or did some people had the same problem with the w204 cars? As i think that te filling hose/neck might be the same on non amg cars.
if needed i will replace the filling neck but i hope to find someone with experience in this problem because it will take some work to replace and dont like to do it when there will be no results

Interesting question. I wonder if the filling hose/neck is different between N. American and ROW vehicles. Have to check in the EPC.
So did check and found the data for the three 204 C63 model types. I'll let you check the differences, if any. Hope that helps
It looks like a different filling neck on the drawings that you found, i will try to upload a picture that looks like mine. As you see the big breather hose gose underneath the filling neck to be atached there to the charcoal canister. That looks just like mine, does somebody know if there is some flexibel last piece of hose to connect the filling neck with the tank? Because this could perhaps be kinked,
just brainstorming a bit
Been a while since posting...mostly reading these days.
Goededag jvand. Ik hoop dat alles goed gaat.
I can confirm that the US spec fuel neck works here in Germany. I have my C63 507 Edition in Stuttgart. The Aral and Shell Tankstellen here in Germany work very well. The car is definitely much more "alive" with the excellent quality Benzin!!! 🙂

thanks already!
behind the cover in the rear wheel well passenger side is a vapour canister with a charcoal filter. Its plugged. You can replace them or remove and shake rattle and roll it and blow out with HP Air as I did. Problem solved

hello chris
met mij gaat alles goed haha
thanks for letting me know, so i will have to look for another possible problem.
is there a big difference in octane/benzine quality yeah? I never really looked in to that, but in that case my imported usa c63 must also be happy here with the fuel that its getting now haha

yes i know
i already tried 2 filters and even tried without it so the breather valve has a free flow

Schönen guten Abend jvand.
Vielen dank für die Antworte. 🙂
For the Benzin situation, we have much better fuel here in the EU vs the US at the Tankstations. Most stations in the US have 91/95/98 RON with E10 and other liquids. One can purchase pure RON but it is pricey for the US: 3-5 Euro/Liter. Here in Stuttgart, it usually 1.98 - 2.10 EUR for the Aral 102. The 98 Esso is around 1.90EUR during the morning commute and drops to 1.70EUR in the evening.
Now many here will debate using a higher RON than what is on the cap. In my experience with the 507, I would do a mixture of 103 RON and 98 RON to give me 100 RON like the Shell stations here in Germany (for those wondering, I was strict with the calculate you octane formula on the Sunoco Race Fuels website), back in the US. That mixture would give me a 220-250 mile Range to Empty. When I fill up with the Aral 102 RON, my Range to Empty is always at least 285 miles Range to Empty. One time, I saw 343.75 miles to empty while driving her Very hard between Stuttgart and Mainz. And when I say driving hard...there is not a limiter on my stock 507 of 280 km/hr. 🙂 And I have confirmed the indicated speedometer is spot on while driving past a few Sie Fahren signs.
So the fuel here is a better quality than back home in the US. The car is very much more alive...probably because one is clearing out the schmutz on every drive vs back in the US there is not really an opportunity to drive at a steady 200-230 km/hr speed.
Take care and enjoy the 507. The M156 is a beast!!!
