507 brake job, all around
Need to do a rotors and pads / fronts and rears on my 2014 edition 507.
Currently based out of the SF san francisco area, and hoping to get leads on a reputable shop here.
For the fronts I was thinking brembo rotors + oem merc pads

For the rears I was thinking zimmerman rotors + textar pads

Would be great to find a shop that can somewhat match FCP euro prices and decent labor costs...
Thanks!

Question Posted by a customer
Want to make sure these will work on 2013 C63 w/P30 code, red brake calipers. What pads go well with these?
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
Yes, that is correct, most are pairing these with the performance genuine pad set part number 0004205004 listed below.

the tools needed for this job are very minimal and if you can drive this car, you can probably swap out your pads and rotors in a few hours. any aversion to getting some brake dust on your hands and saving some $$$?

I believe they were cheaper as well... Also ordered from FCP
Just needed to get the brackett from over seas

To move to the larger rotor, you need to move the caliper out from the hub farther; therefore, a bracket is needed. I would highly recommend a bracket like the one I recommended - doesnt have to be that brand
Reason: many make a 2 piece metal bushing- but that allows felxure between the top and bottom of the caliper vs a one-piece bracket.

so is the 360mm front rotor the correct size?
I have a set of 507 wheels, if I go with 390mm, what other changes do I need to do to move the brake Caliper out?
the MB pads are $$$, anyone have part number for hawks or other non-OEM

As to pads, Hawks are like $260 and OEM is $320. That's not a large difference. I personally run OEM but I can understand why others would not. I also buy all my stuff from FCP Euro (and is where I referenced these prices).

fronts were $400 and rear $115 for the rotors.
fairly easy and straight forward. T55 for the caliper bolts. My trick, remove bolt, insert wood dowel and repeat for second bolt. Easy to slide out caliper and rest on the dowels.
I didn’t do the rear, the bolts, 18mm, are blocked by the tie rod for the sway bar. I need a flexible ratchet wrench or offset wrench. Question for the group, do you unbolt the tie rod at bottom and use standard wrenches for better access?

-upgraded my rotors to the 390mm (with bracket)
-2 piece floating girodisc rotos front and back
-DS2500 pads on the front
-Mercedes OEM pads rear
-stainless steel lines
-castrol SFR brake fluid
my car now stops INSANELY. initial bite is perfect. Zero fade. Perfect modulation at any speeds. I would rate this at double the stock stopping power. Slight squeak sometimes but worth every bit of it. For brake dust control I just ceramic coated my wheels so literally now all I have to do is hose the wheel off and we golden.
the rotors have free’d up the car where I have more responsiveness and I can feel the difference noticeably. With my wavetrac installed as well- putting power down to both wheels perfectly- I can literally pop sideways anytime I want with complete control and have the stopping power necessary.
highly recommend
