I don't think the W206 or 223 ever were missing the HERMES module on delivery, never saw any of those cars missing that. It's possible they were waiting for fitment in order to leave the VPC but everything I've heard points to softwear issues with MBUX or just waiting for EPA certification.

Hmmm I mean for the majority that signed the waiver it probably got released but for those refused to sign the waiver their vehicle couldn't be released, that is what I heard though, I can't validate it as I don't have personal experience. Sorry about that. Thanks for chiming in.

Graphite wagon on 18's (a lot of inbound cars or cars sitting at VPC shipped with 18 inch wheels).

I'm trying to only post the new/different specs that I have not seen. But not a ton of action for the sedans - most of the cars for EU are wagons and those are built right in Germany from the looks of it.

I agree - T models have been prominent in the EU. I feel like at this point - due to our collective efforts - we've seen most of the combinations at this point you can have w/ a C43.

Mine is arriving at the Long Beach port 1/30 and I'm just waiting for the initial units to be shipped to the dealers to give it a proper test drive and make a call. I may also make the decision to re-order a new spec as well depending on their pipeline.

As mentioned before, I also am potentially awaiting my month of allocation for an RS3 so I may elect to continue with that order and just decide once both arrive.

@alexasa - do we have any idea when the next gamut of press reviews will happen?

I'm really curious as to the appetite in the US for this car - will these be sitting on dealer lots due to the 4 cyl vitriol or will these be flying off lots....

The MBUX v2 cars use a new module named RAMSES.

I have no idea - it might just be a more organic launch here in the states with the press release (reviewers getting their hands on samples).

I also don't think anyone cares about this being a 4 cylinder except for the armchair experts who likely aren't interested in owning the car either way. The masses usually take a keen liking to the Mercedes supplied marketing - aka hand built engine > mass produced v6. The pricing will be a bigger component of these sitting than the engine it comes with.

I'd be nervous to reorder - I'd be curious to know if they are going to ship MY24 with performance seats at all (especially with the c63 coming soon).

If you are going to reorder I'd do it sooner than later. The way MB has handled the Model Year switch overs has been brutal lately. They typically went unnoticed in the past but that hasn't been the case recently. MB will abruptly decide it's a MY switch over and your build gets pushed for that new MY and sometimes there is downtime between stopping and starting manufacturing back up again. Hopefully this is all changing soon.

This happened to my CLA45 on order and basically put me in a position to wait for this new c43. That is a low production car and hopefully the c43 won't be subject to the same issues especially with supply chain getting better and demand decreasing.

You could always have your SA keep and eye out for an inbound order that you can snag in your region that meets the specs you are after (likely comprising a little).

Once it is shipped to the dealers, can we do test drive on the new vehicles? or Do we get a chance to drive antoher new C43?
Have you already started negotiating the price with your SA?

Not sure about the first part, but if there's one in stock Im sure we will be able to. As for the pricing, I confirmed with SA that this would be at MSRP at time I put deposit.

Anyone have advice on how to negotiate MSRP? My SA doesn't seem to be budging, saying that they're charging 10k above and that I'm getting a steal for 5k above.

Easiest answer is to navigate with your wallet by taking your business elsewhere. I'll never do business with a dealer that deploys an ADM.

Don't know yet. There appears to be 2 versions though:
  1. Code 383 (RAMSES ENTRY communication module)
  2. Code 384 (RAMSES HIGH communication module)

It will vary depending on the type of car and region. It's easy to say don't pay ADM on this car, but if the entire corporate structure is "charge ADM on everything" in California or elsewhere - then it is what it is.

I would walk for ADM being charged on this car and snag a random order coming in at somewhere they'd be willing to price the vehicle at MSRP.

But my same dealership is charging ADM on G wagons and the like - the way they try and help loyal customers in by bumping the trade-in value of your car, etc. Without context it's hard to judge ADM - but my opinion - this car does not warrant ADM anywhere in the continental US. It's just not special in any meaningful way, especially with demand dwindling and supply chain improving.

You're absolutely right, and added more context that I suppose I should have. Your G-wagon example is spot on (and stands for many other AMG models) - it's a completely different category that this car simply is not in. There are of course other number-massaging scenarios that might make an ADM tolerable I suppose. That said, by and large for this car, I'd suggest searching nationally for one at MSRP, and make a road trip out of getting it home as opposed to ever paying a markup. It will surely be a great car, but not one that justifies overpaying just for the sake of being an early adopter.

What happened?

I placed my order in November and was told the car would be going to production around this time but apparently now it’s frozen and all the bass models that were coming in here to California or currently a VPC. I didn’t get those because those are base models I specifically built mine and it’s supposed to be here by March but we are more than halfway through January and there’s still no info on the US website what is happening? Were they supposed to be out by the end of the year?

Car is not released. Builds w/ Performance Seats got frozen and will start production as early as next week for those early adopters - some of those Performance seat builds got pushed back even further. Another user here did a november build and their build got pushed to March.

Cars should be released and showing up late February/Early March from what we know.

I see. I have to sell my current car right now, within the next two weeks, as it's due for an oil change, and tire rotation, plus tags are also due soon lol. I'm just concerned about the car getting pushed back even more. I have other family member's here at home, but those would be if I really need to go somewhere, I work almost fully remote... so I could work myself around for a few weeks, any more than that... idk. Could always rent a car but its absurdly expensive.
