I'm confused, are you saying the E goes up against the M3 or the C63 is definitely getting a V6 and matching up with the M3/RS models? Is it a V6 or an inline? Source?

Huh? If that was true, it would be a horrible mistake for MB. It makes zero sense as the demographics for the C63 and E63 are completely different - the C63 is a 4-door performance sports coupe whereas the E63 is a 4-door sports sedan. Besides, I believe it's the C63 sales that have been getting crushed the most out of MB's AMG line. Can you kindly identify the source of your information or is it pure personal conjecture? Thanks.

Is it is that difficult to be accurate with engine types? The new engine to which you're referring to is the hybrid assist turbocharged INLINE 6. It is a world apart from their crappy V6s.

Words matter.

I mean, ya, MB discontinued the V6 configuration and the last one was the M276 so I don't understand how is it possible they will come out with a V6 hybrid.

So fair to say we have no source to that claim?

I see, let's stick with a V8 C 63 until proven not when the facelift or next gen comes out. Let's be optimistic, life is better that way.

Enough time has passed since the most recent post @Bones . Given that he hasn't responded to questions by various others in this thread and has remained quiet in identifying the source/authority of his most recent post, I'll attribute it to disinformation and wishful thinking for now. Let's stick with hoping a V8 (albeit potentially a flat-plane as opposed to cross-plane) for the C63. E63 is a fine sports sedan and I'm certain MB has plans for its future, but it's not a 4-door performance sports sedan. Besides, I've never regarded the E63 as a "direct competitor" of the M3.

I think he just misspoke. Obviously the E63 competes with the M5.
