Annoying rattling/clicking above driver’s head on 2023 AMG C43 W206
Hi everyone,
I’m owners of a 2023 AMG C43 (W206), and I’ve got a persistent rattling/clicking sound coming from **just above the driver’s head**, near the **overhead speakers/sunroof area**.
Here’s what I’ve done so far:
• Completely removed the entire Overhead Control Panel (OCP) and isolated it outside the car while driving – the **noise is still present** in exactly the same location.
• The noise occurs primarily when driving on **concrete slabs or rough surfaces**, and it’s a light “tack tack / click click” when the body flexes.
So: the OCP is NOT the source.
My current suspects:
• Overhead Burmester speakers assembly (loose mounting or rubber ring?)
• Sunroof cassette or roof frame flex
• Headliner panel or mount point resonating
Has anyone encountered a similar issue on the W206 platform or specifically the C43 AMG?
If yes, what was the fix (foam padding, tightens, replacing part)?
mine does that. it's coming from the door seal actually, not the roof itself. both mine and my buddy's 63SE has this which means it is likely a common issue across W206 platform.

for real though, both front door was doing this, but now only driver side. not sure what it is. don't have time to bother to take it in. My G80 probably creaked more in weird places.
