C63Se W206 Engine Light on 5th gear after 3,000 RPM

Hello,

I am the owner of a Mercedes C63Se Performance W206 which has only 5,000 KM on the odometer. I have been experiencing serious issue(s) with the said vehicle whereby the car would suddenly ‘vibrate’, and ‘shake’ on 5th gear at 3,000 RPM on Sports mode. The engine light would flash repeatedly and then the engine light would remain on until I switch the car off and on again. If I leave it idle, the car will shake and 'tremble'. The car drives well on Comfort mode or electric mode. I have sent the car to the dealership which has only diagnosed the engine misfiring. But it has not yet determined the cause and which cylinder is misfiring.

Has anyone experienced this before?

Known issue on early W206 C63 hybrids. Likely a bad ignition coil or spark plug on one cylinder that only fails under high load in higher gears. Tell your dealer to check cylinder 4 or 5 common culprits. Also could be software glitch with the hybrid boost in Sport mode. Push them for a cylinder-specific misfire counter readout, not just a generic code. Don’t let them give it back until they replicate it.

Thank you for your reply. MB dealership is unable to give me a precise fault code. They said it is probably cylinder 3 which is misfiring. But no precise detail about the cause. They say it might be injector. Do you have any part numbers for the ignition coil?

If it’s a 4-cylinder, coil is most likely A 274 906 00 01.
If it’s a V6, probably A 276 906 00 01.
Pull the cover, read it off the coil itself before buying. Stick to Bosch or genuine.
And honestly, swap coil 3 with another cylinder first if the misfire moves, it’s the coil, not the injector.

Yup OP has a M139.

thank you for the assistance. Dealership swapped coil and misfire continued in cylinder 3. They changed injector in cylinder 3 and the issue is still here. Any help?
