4 cylinder IL4 rally engines of 1.6 - 2.0ltr displacement were producing power levels of well in excess of 300kw and up to 400kw as far back as the late 80's and early 90's, so no surprise of the above power outputs that can be achieved today.
It will be interesting to see how high the power levels of modern IL4 engines in volume production vehicles ends up, we're already at almost 300kw
